Village officials, local residents and congregants from the Church of the Intercessor in Malverne teamed up for a yard cleanup at a home at Wagg Avenue on Aug. 10. The group came together and got their hands dirty to support a Malvernite who is ill and currently bedridden.
“To see government officials work together to represent the residents of Malverne is what we’re all about,” said Malverne Mayor Keith Corbett.
The cleanup was organized by Malverne resident Lisa Tuffy, who helped to get the group together. The Good Samaritans, equipped with brooms, rakes and work gloves, removed tree branches and other debris from the yard.
