Dog attack injures two in Valley Stream

Two people in Valley Stream were injured on Sunday afternoon after a pair of dogs attacked them, police said.

At 5:25 p.m. Nassau County police said they responded to reports of a dog attack on Hungry Harbor Road after two dogs, which police identified as pit bulls, had attacked a 51-year-old woman. She reportedly suffered scrapes to her face and bites on her arms and legs. She was bleeding heavily, police said. A second victim, a 52-year-old man, also suffered bites to his right hand and foot after he attempted to stop the dogs from attacking. Both were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The dogs were reportedly taken by animal control. Their fate is currently unknown.
