Baldwin gets the scoop on new principal

Lenox Elementary School students, parents and staff members had the chance to meet new principal, Asheena Baez, a week before the start of classes at an ice cream social held on Aug. 29. Parents were able to speak with Baez, while the children enjoyed ice cream and bubbles in the schoolyard.

Baez started the job on July 1, replacing Bernice-Theresa Acevedo. She was previously a principal in the Beacon City School District in the Mid-Hudson Valley. She has a master’s in Administrative Leadership from Columbia University and completed district facilitation training in social and emotional learning development at Yale. She’s expected to receive her Doctorate of Education in December of 2019.
