Cops: Franklin Square man sent ‘inappropriate’ messages to teenager

A Franklin Square man was arrested on Nov. 11 for allegedly sending inappropriate text messages to a 14-year-old he tutored, Nassau County police report. According to detectives, Eric Mordhorst, 67, was working as a music tutor for the teenager for a year, during which time Mordhorst sent the teenager several inappropriate text messages. Mordhorst was arrested at his home without incident.
He is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and is due to appear at the First District Court in Hempstead on Nov. 15. Detectives ask that anyone who feels they may have been victimized Mordhorst contact the Fifth Squad at (516) 573-6553. All callers will remain anonymous.
